Welcome to your Palm Oil Week of Action! This challenge is meant to provide people of all ages with resources and activities to take ACTION against unsustainable palm oil production from wherever they are in the world! I was inspired by what Dr. Jane Goodall said in her video invitation to observe the International Day of Peace: "...but above all discuss what needs to be done, discuss what you can do, and take action. Don't just talk; there is too much talking. Take action". I think this challenge will be a great way for people who don't necessarily know what actions to take, to find easily accessible resources and shape a better future for the planet.

• ANALYSIS: Now that you’ve been informed, it’s time to reflect on what you have learned by answering these questions (You can record your answers or just think about them!):

  • What are some of the problems with palm oil production?

  • Why do I care about this issue?

  • Brainstorm some solutions to the problem. This can be as simple as quick things we can all do to help or you could think about reforms to the industry as a whole. Remember that this is simply a brainstorming activity, so just write down anything that comes to mind!
